Allied Health Professional Eligibility (Non-Nurses)

Who can enroll and what prerequisites (if any) apply.

Overview

INCA programs are designed primarily for licensed nurses. This article explains eligibility for non-nurses and allied health professionals, including important limitations related to program access and contact hours. Eligibility for Non-Nurses The Integrative Nurse Coach® Certificate Program (INCCP) is not open to non-nurses. Enrollment in INCCP requires active licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Nurse (APN/NP). This requirement reflects the scope, structure, and nursing-specific framework of the program. Specialty Programs and Allied Health Professionals On occasion, certain allied health professionals may be permitted to enroll in select self-paced specialty programs. These exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis and depend on: The specific specialty program The individual’s professional background and credentials Alignment between the program content and the learner’s scope of practice Important Note About Contact Hours INCA is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Because of this: Contact hours are awarded only to licensed nurses Non-nurses and allied health professionals are not eligible to receive contact hours, even if permitted to enroll in a specialty program Certificates of completion may still be issued for educational participation when applicable, but they will not include ANCC contact hours. Scope of Practice and Use of Content All INCA programs are educational in nature. Non-nurse participants are responsible for: Practicing within their own professional scope Complying with employer, licensure, and regulatory requirements Understanding how program content applies to their role Completion of an INCA program does not grant licensure, certification, or authorization to practice. Interested but Unsure? If you are not a licensed nurse and are interested in a specialty program, we encourage you to speak with Admissions before enrolling.
