Overview
INCA programs are designed for nurses who want to bring a whole-person, integrative approach into their professional practice. This article explains who is eligible to enroll, how licensure factors into program selection, and important scope of practice considerations. Who INCA Programs Are Designed For INCA programs are intended for licensed nurses who are interested in integrative, holistic, and coaching-informed approaches to care, leadership, education, and professional practice. Eligible learners include: Registered Nurses (RNs) Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs/NPs) Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) / Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) Program-Specific Eligibility Integrative Nurse Coach® Certificate Program (INCCP) The Integrative Nurse Coach® Certificate Program (INCCP) requires active licensure as either: a Registered Nurse (RN), or an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN/NP) This requirement reflects the scope, depth, and supervised coaching components of the program. Self-Paced Specialty Programs INCA’s self-paced specialty programs are open to licensed nurses at all levels, including RNs, APNs, and LPNs/LVNs. These programs provide focused education in specific areas of integrative nursing and coaching-informed practice. Scope of Practice Considerations All INCA programs are taught within the scope of practice of professional nursing. Core content is designed to align with RN scope of practice. Some programs include additional content or perspective relevant to advanced practice nurses. LPNs/LVNs are welcome to enroll in eligible programs and should remain mindful of their specific scope of practice, employer policies, and state or regional regulations. INCA programs are educational in nature. Completion of an INCA program does not expand or replace your professional license, nor does it authorize you to practice outside your licensed scope. Using What You Learn Nurses use INCA education in a wide variety of settings, including: Clinical practice Care coordination and case management Leadership and education Wellness, coaching, and private practice. How you apply what you learn depends on your license, role, employer policies, and local regulations. Not Sure If a Program Is Right for You?
