What to Expect in the Integrative Nurse Coach® Certificate Program (INCCP)
A high-level overview of the INCCP experience, including learning flow, support, and outcomes.
Overview
The Integrative Nurse Coach® Certificate Program (INCCP) is INCA’s flagship program and the foundation from which all other INCA offerings are informed. INCCP is designed as a comprehensive, experiential learning journey that supports nurses in developing coaching-informed skills, deep self-awareness, and a whole-person approach to practice. The Overall Learning Experience INCCP is not a passive or self-study-only program. It is intentionally designed to integrate education, reflection, practice, and community. As a participant, you can expect: A structured, cohort-based learning experience Live, faculty-led sessions with experienced nurse coach educators Opportunities for reflection, discussion, and applied learning Guided practice through mentorship groups and peer coaching Progressive skill development over time This approach allows learning to be integrated meaningfully rather than rushed or isolated. A Program Designed in Levels INCCP is organized into progressive learning levels that build on one another. Each level is designed to deepen your understanding and application of integrative nurse coaching skills. Completion of earlier levels is required before advancing to later levels, ensuring a strong foundation and professional readiness. This sequencing supports confidence, competence, and integration of skills into real-world nursing practice. Learning Through Relationship and Practice A defining feature of INCCP is learning in relationship. Throughout the program, you will participate in: Mentorship groups led by experienced nurse coaches Peer coaching in structured, supportive settings Practicum experiences designed to bridge theory and practice These components are central to the program—not add-ons—and are designed to support safe, ethical, and confident coaching practice. Time Commitment and Engagement INCCP respects that nurses are busy professionals. At the same time, meaningful learning requires presence and engagement. You can expect to: Engage regularly with course materials and learning activities Participate in scheduled live sessions and group experiences Dedicate time to reflection and skills practice The program is designed to be rigorous yet supportive, emphasizing progress over perfection. What INCCP Is — and Is Not INCCP is: A comprehensive professional education program for nurses Grounded in integrative, holistic, and coaching-informed principles Designed to support both personal and professional growth INCCP is not: A quick or purely technical training A self-paced program with minimal interaction A one-size-fits-all approach to practice Support Throughout the Program You will be supported throughout INCCP by faculty, mentors, and the INCA team. Clear communication, structured guidance, and community connection are integral to the experience. Timely attention to program emails and instructions is important to ensure a smooth and successful journey. Preparing for a Transformational Experience Many nurses describe INCCP as both professionally enriching and personally meaningful. Approaching the program with curiosity, openness, and a willingness to engage fully will help you get the most from the experience.
