What's the difference between the Functional Nursing and Lifestyle Nursing programs?

Functional Nursing focuses on root-cause, systems thinking (the “why”). Lifestyle Nursing focuses on evidence-based behavior change (the “how”). They're complementary.

They're complementary but distinct parts of whole-systems, integrative nursing:

  • Functional Nursing = root causes, systems thinking, patterns, story, the Functional Medicine Matrix, terrain. It teaches the why behind health patterns.
  • Lifestyle Nursing = evidence-based lifestyle interventions and behavior-change strategies based on the Six Pillars. It teaches the how of helping patients adopt healthier habits.

Both align with nursing scope and complement each other. Many nurses take both through the Functional Nursing + Lifestyle Nursing Dual Certificate Pathway, which saves $395 when you enroll in both at once.
