International Nurses (non-US)
Eligibility guidance for nurses outside the U.S., including common documentation questions.
Overview
INCA welcomes nurses from around the world who are interested in integrative, holistic, and coaching-informed approaches to practice. This article outlines eligibility for international students and important considerations before enrolling.
International Enrollment at INCA
International nurses are welcome to enroll in many INCA programs, provided they meet the program's eligibility requirements. Eligibility is based on:
- Your nursing license or credential in your country of practice
- The specific INCA program you wish to enroll in
- Your ability to participate in the program format and requirements
Program Eligibility by Location
Integrative Nurse Coach® Certificate Program (INCCP): requires active licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Nurse (APN/NP). International nurses who hold the equivalent of RN or APN licensure in their country are eligible to enroll.
Self-Paced Specialty Programs: designed for nurses and also open to LPNs, LVNs, CNAs, or their international equivalents — no RN or APN license is required, depending on local regulations. Non-nurses should review Allied Health Professional Eligibility (Non-Nurses).
Scope of Practice and Local Regulations
All INCA programs are educational and taught within the scope of professional nursing. International students are responsible for complying with the scope of practice defined by their country or region, licensing or regulatory requirements, and employer policies. Completion does not grant licensure, certification, or authorization to practice in any jurisdiction.
Time Zones and Live Participation
Note: Some INCA programs, including INCCP, include live sessions scheduled in U.S. time zones. International students should consider time-zone differences before enrolling.
Certificates, Contact Hours, and Recognition
Certificates and contact hours are issued upon successful completion of requirements and full payment. Recognition varies by country and employer, so international students should confirm how continuing education is recognized in their region.
