I Don't Have a BSN. What Are My Board Certification Options?
Good news: as of December 1, 2021, a BSN is no longer required for Nurse Coach board certification through AHNCC. Here's what that means for you.
A BSN is no longer required
As of December 1, 2021, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is not required to sit for Nurse Coach board certification through the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation (AHNCC). This opened the path for many more RNs to pursue the NC-BC credential.
As of December 1, 2021, a BSN is NOT required to sit for Nurse Coach board certification through AHNCC. Always confirm current eligibility directly with AHNCC.
Eligibility rules can change, so we recommend confirming the current requirements directly with AHNCC. Our Admissions team can also review your specific license and background — book a call. If you're an LPN/LVN, see our LPN/LVN eligibility guide; international nurses can read our guide for international nurses.
