How to Find Clients for the INCCP Level 2 Practicum

How to find practice clients for Practicum, including built-in supports and recommended outreach.

Overview

As part of Level 2: Integrative Nurse Coach® Practicum, students complete 60 required coaching hours with practice clients. Yes, you’ll be responsible for identifying your own clients—but you will not be doing this alone. By the time you complete the Foundations phase, you’ll have the skills, confidence, and communication tools needed to begin coaching. Finding and working with clients is an intentional and empowering part of your development as a Nurse Coach. How INCA supports you in finding clients You’ll receive step-by-step guidance on ethical client outreach and onboarding. Practicum students are paired with Foundations students for structured practice and feedback opportunities. You’ll have access to INCA’s exclusive Client Database, which allows you to connect with individuals actively seeking coaching from Nurse Coaches in training. Many students are able to fulfill 3 of their required clients through this database. Where students commonly find additional clients Friends, family members, or colleagues Professional or community networks Wellness-focused groups or organizations Online outreach aligned with program guidance How coaching sessions are conducted Client coaching sessions may take place: In person By phone Online using a secure coaching platform Experience coaching from the client perspective We also encourage students to receive coaching themselves as part of their learning journey. Participating as a client helps you better understand the coaching process, build empathy, and gain insight into what your own clients may experience.
