How Does the INCCP Work? Can You Give Me an Overview?
A plain-language overview of the four-level INCCP: Foundations, Practicum, Board Certification Review, and Professional Development Branches.
A four-level program
The Integrative Nurse Coach® Certificate Program (INCCP) unfolds across four progressive levels.
Foundations and the Practicum together form the complete program that prepares you to sit for board certification in Nurse Coaching and Holistic Nursing through AHNCC.
Level 1: Foundations (14 weeks, 90 contact hours)
About 5–6 hours per week. Each week you'll:
- Watch recorded lectures and answer a few low-stakes “quiz” questions (retakeable — you can't fail them)
- Participate in discussion forums, responding to prompts and engaging with peers
- Practice peer coaching with a partner via web conference at a time you arrange together
- Attend live mentorship meetings (2 hours) with your small group, formed from an availability survey sent after registration
Level 2: Practicum (16 weeks, 156 contact hours)
About 6–7 hours per week, and home to the 60 supervised coaching hours required for board certification. You'll:
- Meet for seven 2-hour live supervision sessions, every two weeks, with your small group
- Coach real practice clients — in person, by phone, or via secure software we provide at no extra cost
- Transcribe three sessions for written feedback from board-certified Nurse Coach Faculty Mentors
- Present one nursing situation to your small group
Level 3: Board Certification Review (self-paced)
Includes the Nurse Coach Board Certification Review (24 contact hours) and a Holistic Nursing Certification Review course (contact hours coming soon). Both are included in every pathway and help you solidify your knowledge and prepare confidently for the exams.
Level 4: Professional Development Branches (self-paced)
Choose the Nurse Coach Private Practice Business Branch or the Integrating Nurse Coaching in Organizations branch (40 contact hours), or both — depending on your pathway.
