Deferring Your Enrollment
INCA deferral rules by program: deferrals apply to Levels 1 and 2 of the INCCP only, with a one-time complimentary Week-1 option, a $400 fee thereafter, and no deferrals for Specialty Programs.
INCA’s deferral policies vary by program type. Please review the appropriate section below carefully, as deferrals are not available for all programs. This article is a summary only. For complete and binding policy language, refer to the INCA Course Policies.
Self-Paced Specialty Programs
Deferrals are not permitted for Self-Paced Specialty Programs. All Self-Paced Specialty Programs include one full year of access, beginning on the program launch date or your enrollment date (whichever is later). This access period is designed to provide flexibility for learners with varying schedules.
- Enrollment cannot be deferred to a future date.
- Access cannot be paused or extended.
If your access period expires before you complete the program, the course will close and a certificate will not be issued. To regain access, you must re-enroll and pay tuition at the time of re-enrollment. Re-enrollment provides a new access period — see Re-Enrollment Policy.
Integrative Nurse Coach® Certificate Program (INCCP)
Deferrals are available only for Levels 1 and 2 (Foundations and Practicum) of the Integrative Nurse Coach® Certificate Program and are subject to eligibility requirements, deadlines, and fees. The INCCP is a cohort-based program with live components, faculty facilitation, and structured timelines.
How to Request a Deferral
All deferral requests should be discussed with Faculty Mentors first. After discussing with faculty mentors, the student must submit deferral requests using the official Deferral Request Form available in the Canvas Support menu. Requests submitted by email or directly to faculty or staff will not be processed.
Only the Deferral Request Form in Canvas counts. Emails to faculty, mentors, admissions, or staff are NOT valid deferral requests and will not be processed.
Deferral Limits
- Deferrals are permitted one time only.
- The deferred offering must begin within one year of your original program start date.
Timing and Fees
- Before or during Week 1: A one-time complimentary deferral may be available if requested by 11:59 PM ET on the Sunday of Week 1. Ask your faculty mentor to initiate the deferral fee waiver code.
- After Week 1 and up to 50% completion: A $400 deferral fee applies, payable when you submit the Deferral Form.
- After 50% completion: Deferrals are not permitted.
The complimentary Week-1 deferral has a hard deadline — 11:59 PM ET on the Sunday of Week 1. No exceptions are granted after this.
Payment Plans and Deferrals
If you are enrolled using a payment plan:
- Your payment plan continues as originally scheduled.
- Payments are not paused, delayed, or adjusted due to a deferral.
For full payment plan terms, refer to Payment Plans: Terms & Responsibilities.
When Deferral Is Not an Option
If you are not eligible to defer, you may need to re-enroll instead. For details, refer to the Re-Enrollment Policy.
Need Help?
If you are unsure whether a deferral applies to your situation, please submit a student support ticket. For complete policy language, always refer to the INCA Course Policies.
