Who is the CannyNurse® program for, and what are the prerequisites?
It's open to all licensed nurses (LPN/LVN, RN, APRN) or graduates of an accredited nursing program. Because the ECS regulates every body system, it's relevant to nurses in every specialty.
The program is open to nurses with a valid license (LPN/LVN, RN, APRN) or graduates of an accredited nursing program. It's created and designed for nurses but open to all healthcare workers. Because the endocannabinoid system is the master regulator of every other body system — and patients of all kinds use cannabis — it's valuable knowledge in every setting.
The program is built on the scope and standards established by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) in its 2018 National Nursing Guidelines for Medical Marijuana, which set out six principles of essential cannabis knowledge for all nurses.
