Currently, billing insurance for Nurse Coaching services is limited, but progress is being made—and the Integrative Nurse Coach Academy (INCA) is helping lead the way.
✅ A Category III CPT® Code for Health & Wellness Coaching has been approved by the American Medical Association (AMA). While Category III codes are primarily for data collection and not typically reimbursed yet, their use helps track outcomes and utilization. This is a critical step toward securing a Category I CPT® Code, which would allow for full insurance reimbursement.
🏛 INCA continues to advocate for recognition of Nurse Coaching by lobbying for reimbursable CPT codes.
